Jonathan -- sorry to reactivate an older thread, but i'm trying to get the cockpitsimparts laser cut buttons attached to the little led push buttons and am really confused. I know there's a special base for these that i've printed that hold them fine -- it's attaching them to the buttons that has me confused. Do you have a picture showing how your FMC buttons are attached to the different pieces? thank you!
Yes I do agree, the variation in buttons does increase the multitude of various designs that could be made, but is cumbersome and a long drawn out process. Since I have my own PCB now I ended up going with the button mod from Sam/you and accepting it won't naturally fit for my buttons, but I do get a nice click :-)
The buttons won't fall out since the base is bigger than the top half so all in all it's good for me!
Hello All, Interesting read, and this is one of the main problems I am currently facing with all my designs. I have built the new updated EFIS design and asked people to test the parts and report back. There seems to be quite a significant disparity between people's printers. Not so much for larger parts, but it's the intimate small tolerance parts.
In the end, after testing my designs on the three different printers that I have here, I will stick with that design from now on.
Of the 33 people tested and reported back, 24 said the design fitted perfectly from their print. Nine people currently report issues which I then created a further 18 different variants to get the parts to fit on their printer.
This had led to countless hours of redesign work for parts that no longer now fit on my printers.
If anyone has a suggestion has to decrease this workload while trying to assist fellow sim builders, please let me know.
@captajay.jayaraj Hello, the buttons I ordered from the build link have posts that are 5.7mm wide, compared to the 6.0-6.1mm wide posts on the ones shown in the video and website picture.
Some of these buttons have posts with triangular tabs, and they are typically narrower. that is what I got, and about all I can find now. The buttons that have rectangular tabs, as shown in the video and build webpage are usually 6.0 or 6.1 mm.

Kind regards Karl
@Bill Buchanan where did you get the base for the switch to fit nicely cause mine don’t fit
Are they worth it? Oh yes indeedy....
Are the caps routed on the inside so they just fit over the same bases @Karl ? Merry Christmas!!!
Hi Jonathon, I told Sam not to produce these. They are tiny and there is no need as the 3d printed version would be easier and simpler to create.
