Hi.
I appreciate the manuals on how to setup the printer, but it must be very limited to a specific printer.
My Geeetech A20 makes a disaster sadly, but I do not know what the problem is, maybe support issue?
This is the top of the FMC, looks pretty okay, but at the right top part support is missing despite following instructions of settings.

At the bottom part it looks like this,

The support is just not there and it looks terrible.
And the skirt around, why a skirt? It does not support the adhesion of the build since it is not attached to the build itself but is a "model" of its own outside the actual model. Brim would be better here right?
Anyone that can tell me what is going wrong here?
This is after almost 3 hours of printing so I will have to abort it and start all over to try again with my custom settings instead.
Now the bottom part is printed as well. However, had problems with the first four prints.
Changes I did wa;
BRIM 10mm instead of skirt
Support, LINES 25%
First two layer speed 10mm/sec.
With these setting it was perfectly printed with my Geeetech A20 printer. Lower part took 24,5 hours but was certainly worth it!!!
Great job Karl designing these models!!!
It finished at 2:50am and I am happy with the result. Missed the ironing setting, but for the main part it has been activated. Now on this part shown below it was only active for top layer = indicators for buttons.
Hi, i have owned the dual version of this printer (A20M) in the past and its a clone of the original ender 3 and settings are the same. (so that rules out Compatibility issues)
In the first picture top right inner corner that's a bed adhesion issue from the first layer up and this is coupled with poor layer adhesion either caused by the bed not being level or by cheap filament. (maybe both if using anycubics grey pla, its utter rubbish if anyone wondered lol)
The second picture also shows poor bed adhesion as the initial wall lines havnt stuck to the bed at all and that is what all those stringy diagonal lines are across the middle of the bed as they have followed the nozzle till it stuck in the left corner. Top Left side of the 1st picture shows bed adhesion is ok the more you go to the right and lower the bed adhesion becomes more of a problem.
The second picture also shows the skirt hasnt stuck correctly from below the 'C' and right of it.
Solutions - re-level the bed using the paper technique and check using a bed levelling print of thingiverse. The bed on these is great the issue is normally getting them off the bed so start with levelling. The most important layer is layer 1, watch to make sure its done it all and its 100% perfect.
If that fails slow down your initial layer speed.
If that still fails try another slicer ( you havnt said if your using Cura or Geeetechs own)
If that fails try another brand of filament if you have one to hand.
If that doesnt work post up your print settings for further help.
Hello,
I have never used this printer, but my cura settings are for the Crealitry series. However, the print guide should be universal as I just show the support, infill and standard settings.
Looking at the photos, something is not right. First off I would try a different filament.
Next, it looks like you need to slow your printer down especially on corners.
The skirt is used for priming the nozzle and ensuring the plate is level around the exterior of the print. That is all.
I would also recommend printing this part on a raft. this will allow a good adhesion layer and will remove the support as you peel the raft off.
Please let me know how you get on. Kind Regards, Karl
