First, thank you for an incredible design. I cannot wait to get it built. I will be using your STL files, but will be using a Raspberry Pi with Windows 10 IOT driving ethernet-based FMC program. I am doing this because there is too great of a frame rate drop extracting the FMC screen from P3Dv5 directly.
On to my comments:
1) tactile buttons: the tactile buttons linked in the build guide have changed design, and the maximum distance between the post clips on the new design is 5.7mm, not the 6.0-6.1mm with the post clips shown in your video. You can tell if you have the smaller clip, as the clip protrusions are triangular, not rectangular as shown in the guide. The larger clips are now very hard to find, seemingly. The closest I found are here: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000150501101.html?spm=a2g0o.cart.0.0.1fcf3c00930eSw&mp=1
I may just superglue the current designs to the smaller posts.
2) Round Base STL file for resin: the file 58B Resin Round Base.stl still has the 3D model of the tactile button in it, and I cannot easily remove. Would it be possilble to re-post this file, without the button included?
Ahh, now with the new $38 MCP, I see I have yet another project in the queue!
Thank you for all the clever design work, and great build guides.
Cheers!
Hello!
Thank you for a great write up. I have just reordered a new batch of 1000 tactile switches, If they have changed the design, I will amend my design to match. After downloading the datasheet from the link, they are still showing 5.7mm wide. I'll wait until they arrive before adjusting the design because that will require a huge amount of time and effort.
I have just updated the download to remove the tactile switch from the print. The download is now at V9.
I hope that helps and get you back under way! Kind regards Karl
