Hi, Karl your sim builds have inspired me to build a G1000 cockpit... amazing designs!
I'm still planning and learning before I dive in, ideally I want 2 of the G1000 NXi units in a compact case on my desk, and with as few external wires as possible. But I'm stuck on how everything is powered.
How does everyone power theirs? Do you use 2 of them (PFD and MFD)?
I see 3 possibilities, but am not sure what the best way is:
PC supplied USB power to each Arduino, and AC adapter to each LCD (2 USB, 2 HDMI, 2 AC adapters)
AC adapter to each Arduino and LCD (2 USB cables, 2 HDMI, 4 AC adapters)
A single power supply for both units, that breaks out power to the LCDs and Arduinos ... is this feasible? It would be ideal to just have: 2 USB, 2 HDMI and 1 power cable for the lot?
Thanks in advance.
