I purchased the v1 last year and finally got the LCDs installed today, which are basically unviewable unless your face is directly in front of it. Even then it's not great. Pretty big let down. I assume this is why karl made the new v2. I'm guessing there's no way the ips panel on v2 would fit into my v1 bezel? If there is, that would be amazing and id shell out another $200 for screens.

Sorry to hear about your disappointment. I am in no way perfect, and although I have not had an issue with the upside-down screens, I know a lot of others have, which is why I went back and revisited the whole design. In fact, v2 is completely different. You have a couple of options:
1) Angle your instrument panel back by 15 degrees. This will help with the clarity of the screens.
2)Carry out a test print of V2 and see if your screens will fit into the bezels.
Unfortunately, the new screens in no way will fit into v1. The screens are much bigger, and the bottom bezel has been adapted to hide the larger bezel by orienting the screen correctly.
