Hi!
I'm just finishing the 38$ MCP, at the time i started i had no cnc so I 3Dprinted the parts ( You can see my make here: https://www.thingiverse.com/make:819582
Some time ago I ordered a 3018 cnc to cut and engrave my future panels as the 3d printed process was a bit slow and the surface quality is a bit so-so. I now plan to engrave a new front panel for the MCP, but it was not as easy as I expected.
I have downloaded the whole MCP panel kit to fusion and isolated the panel itself. From here I've tried to use fusion to make tool paths both to cut the panel out and to engrave the text and graphics on the front.
But I need help... Fusion manufacture seems very complicated, I've tried ESTLCam also, and managed to get the toolpath for the panel but I cannot figure out how to make it accept the text for engraving. If someone can point me at some tutorial to get the process steps right, or of the top of their head can tell me what steps I need to take, or recommend software I'd be extremely grateful.
Thank you Karl, that was very helpful!
Hi, The linked video is how I achieve my CNC cuts and engrave.
Kind Regards,
Karl
That looks promising, thank you @whitehedr ! This old Tony also had some info, and he is always nice to listen to too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J4bMAIEFCYU I hope I will figure it out eventually :)
this might help you out if you are using Fusion 360. https://youtu.be/aUbWAdIXUqk
John has a lot of good tips for using Fusion.
