I am trying to build the throttle unit as my first item having never done anything like this before and thanks to Karl we all have a chance to have our own cockpit (at least in my case this will be several years at my pace).😂
My question is about the springs in the speedbrake and flap arms. The build guide suggests a 4 x 78 spring in each but it looks as if these would be too long, especially on the flap lever? Also anybody have a good place to get these springs from (uk), I have looked on ebay and other places and to get specific lengths for this diameter is quite difficult. Any ideas / help gratefully received.
😀 This is exactly what I did also.
I just pulled the spring until the tension felt right to me then drove the screw through it and cut off the excess hanging past the screw. It doesn't really need a loop at both ends.
Yup, 78mm is far too long. 40mm is about right.
Try these - mine arrived in under 3 weeks.
