Hi all
My CR-10 printer has developed a fault. When you switch on its already showing the bed temp at -8 degrees. As soon as you try to increase the temp a 'MIN TEMP BED' message appears.
I assume this is a bed thermistor issue but just wondering if anyone else has had this and is there a quick fix.
Thanks in advance.
Andy
I used this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vlta31wswAE&t=591s for the case fans,
this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ApA9Xy4t1ok&t=950s for the PSU fan
and the change is incredible
and this is the next: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IuvZLtB01e8&t=608s , as soon as I get enough off time from printing the sim
Yeah mines a CR-10 V3 but not upgraded at all. Mine is down stairs behind two closed doors and my wife can here it upstairs in bed!!!
yeh, mine works non stop too,
go the first one in October, and the second in January, since then it had only one stop for more then 2 hours since I was out of the country for 4 days and the 2 day print that I started before the flight gone wild and I had to stop it...
BTW, did you upgrade the printer? I replaced all the jet engines (fans) and added a CR touch, I have the CR-10 V3 and the you could hear it through 2 closed doors.
Hi Ido
Mines only 3 months old but used 24/7 since I got it. I'm going to get an upgraded board I think and if that doesn't work then Ill just buy another one and keep this one for spare parts!!!!

Andy
I had the same problem with the head temp, as far as I could understand it was the board, but since the printer was only 2 month old, it was replaced, so I can't say for sure.
but all the forums talk either about the thermistor or the board
Hi Francois and thank you for your reply. The connection to the motherboard looks good. I split the wires and have continuity from the edge of the bed back to the motherboard I can't see the wires being broken under the bed itself so its all a bit of a mystery. I'm starting to think its the motherboard itself as this literally happened overnight!!!
I'm pretty sure that when I used to switch it on, the bed temp would be at zero and not -8.

Andy
Andy,
The bed thermistor usually doesn't just pack up, the -8 degree you see means the resistance is infinite, ie "open circuit". I would first check on the motherboard if the bed thermistor plug is still fully attached, and if that is still good, check continuity of the two wires leading to the thermistor. The constant movement of the bed sometimes cause the wires to break where they bend, causing an open circuit. Hope you come right,
Francois
