Hello all,
I'm new to the Forum and to building flight controls. I was drawn here by Karl's new Helo controls and the accompanying videos and I'm keen to create the collective. I fly in DCS exclusively and the sim will get a high fidelity Chinook sometime this year hopefully, hence the requirement for the collective. I went to Mobiflight to read their website but saw no reference to DCS. So my first questions I need to understand is 2 fold. 1. Will Mobiflight work for DCS. 2. Can I program the collective as a single unit without the cyclic?
Thanks
Ron
Hello Ron, all good questions.
Mobiflight is only used as a closed loop. It does not need to connect to the sim/DCS to work. It only controls the beep up and down on the collective. If you only want force trim hold, then mobiflight wouldn't be needed at all. The trim switch would just enable/disable the stepper for collective hold.
Again, the system is designed to add the controls as you need. Having both would only mean the controls act like the real thing. So a joystick can be used for the cyclic. Using a joystick is way easier as I found out!
Kind regards, Karl
