Hello Guys,
Today I received an emailmkt from aliexpress with the EC11EBB24C03 Dual Axis encoder
I've been searching for a dual knob for a long time and found some "tricks" to make a double knob using two single knobs. This one above I've never seen before. Does anybody have ever used it ? is it possible to use it with arduino and mobiflight ?
Hope you enjoy
Regards
Hey Lucas, I've got some myself as I was told they work. You just need to use some 10kohm pull up resistors between the two outputs to 5v. One thing I wasn't aware of when I bought them was, they aren't designed to be panel mounted. They are designed to be PCB mounted. Hence no thread or nut on the shaft. For me, I'm intending to try out PCB design for the first time.
These look like the exact ones available from propwashsim.com, for an extra 3 dollars they come with the dual knobs and PCB is needed. So they should work on there own. Kind Regards Karl
Thanks guys
I've been an electronics technician for almost 20 years and I've never made a PCB before. Well I'm now giving it a try seeing its so cheap to get them made. The first will be a Comm Radio and they'll incorporate these encoders. I'm also using the MAX7219 chip without having to use the 8 digit pcb's. Some prototype testing to be done first before committing to ordering the PCB's.
I used EasyEDA and JLCPCB for the boards I made up. I had some growing pains with the software but I have it under control now. Dealing with the board vender could not be easier. Submit the Gerber files, pick your board specs and 7-10 days later beautiful and reasonably priced boards appear in your mailbox. You will not be disappointed. I even got into using SMD resistors, LED’s, and capacitors in my designs. I use the 1206 size SMD components over the smaller 0805 and 0603 which are just too small to work with without a paste stencil and a reflow oven.
