My first 737 panel kits arrived yesterday from Cockpitsimparts. I am very pleased with them. Finish is superb, engraving is crisp and unblemished. There is a very slight hole miss alignment between the parts mounting layer and the faceplate. It will be easy to fix with a couple of strokes of a file. I give them 5 stars out of 5. Now on to my questions about the panel. The BARO/MINS function is a 3 position Inner switch (knob closest to the panel) to select mode and what looks to be a 2 detent +- outer switch to adjust the value. To make the outer switch even dicer is the ugly fact that that bad boy is spring loaded to return to Center. The cockpitsimparts solution for this aircraft function is to just adjust the value of the 2 parameters with a rotary encoder. Since I am a rank beginner in this endeavor I wonder if y’all just did an adjust the value solution or did you add the mode selector switch as well. Karl has a very elegant solution on how to modify a switch to incorporate an encoder. I am not sure if the Sim software or the Mobi software would even support the 2 detent +- solution to adjust the value. The way it works is when you go one dent you get a units increment or decrement and if you go 2 detent you get a tens increment or decrement.
Now another question, this one about back lighting. When you clear the paint off the back of the board do you need to be precise and just remove paint from behind the legend or can you remove paint in a large block on the back of the panel?
