Hi everyone,
I am in the process of creating g-code for my cnc. I am having a hard time trying to create the pockets around text on the Hydraulic panel on the overhead. I am new to fusion 360 and would welcome any tips and tricks! I attached a picture of my issue..
thanks in advance!

Hi Samuel, Let me see, back in 2 mins. Just trying to upload the video of me selecting the tool patch, but my website seems to be having issues!
I think I found a part of the answer. You are right, the bit was too large. It seems to work fine with a 0.5mm flat endmill. I think a part of the solution is in the entry and exit path also. I post if I find a solution.
thanks for your help! It’s appreciated
I was unable to generate a tool path. Maybe someone else can help. I can tell you this, you need a very small cutter. Working with TEXT in Fusion is not easy to do. There has been changes to the way TEXT works fairly recently. I am gong to keep playing around to try and figure it out.
It looks like your cutter is too large. You are not excluding the text. You are attempting an extremely complex and precise operation. have you tried to generate a tool path on something far less precise? I will try it and see what can be done.
Here is how it looks. the problem is that it removes all the stock. It’s not possible to leave the letters. I must be doing something wrong...
What does your tool path look like? Does the tool trace around the outside or the inside of the pocket?
