G1000 and Jets - is it possible?

I have to admit I like jets as well prop planes. Which poses come complications of what to print and build. For example the G1000 displays could display PFD and EFIS Map. A speed encoder, a VS encoder and a few extra AP and EFIS buttons would provide 99% of a jet display, by reusing Alt, Baro, Radios, Heading etc.

Russ Barlow uses touch screens and Air Manager; it would be possible to use Air Manager to fill in the gaps between G1000 and Jets.

Has anyone else stumbled over this problem? What was your generic solution?
