Hi, can anyone help me with printing the large back support? The one that holds the lcd controller etc.
I have had about 10 failed prints so far and counting.
What orientation should this piece be printed in? Support? Raft? Any other settings need adjusting?
All other parts have printed flawlessly so this is doing my head in.
Thank you.
Oh that's not good.. I'm trying to figure out what I'm looking at. If your calibration cube comes out fine then I'd say the default settings should be okay and not not the issue here. Assuming the same nozzle diameter is used with the same temperature and speed.
It almost seems like its only printing one line of wall. At least for your attempt with raft. If you look at the preview in Cura (or whichever slicer software you're using), does that look okay? No errors there?
The thing with this model is there's not much room for infill since the wall thickness is very thin everywhere. So my guess as to what happened: your slicer software did not calculate for any infill and your Wall Line Count is probably set to 1 or 2. Which could result in the image you've shown.
So you could try to up the wall line count to at least 3 and set the infill to 100% to ensure you'll get a solid print. With these settings, using a 0.6mm nozzle, the preview should look as follows:
Although I must admit, looking at your pictures, there also seems to be something off with your print speed / extrusion speed. I'd set those to a lower setting if it keeps looking like this. Weird though if your calibration cube turns out fine..
Hi Fogazi, can you show or describe what the failed print looks like and what your current settings are? At this point its hard to say why it fails.
I've printed mine just fine laying flat on the print bed, the way you'd orient it in your build. I've used a raft because the ends are prone to warping since its quite a large part. I used support for the overhanging parts, just to bridge the gaps. Also used a 0.6mm nozzle since its not a visual part. Nothing else really.
