I am busy building a MCP. I use the 7 segment display where you can detached the digit blocks. I find the female to male jumper wire male header pin is bigger than the 7 segment display board female Header pins. So the male header does not fit in the board. Is this a common problem or do you get thinner male header pins

Sorry Johan, I do not get notifications for the forum. So i often think there are now questions. Then when i look, there's lots to answer! My apologies. As for the header pins, they are different sizes, this is why you see myself and most others soldering wires between the two units. This allows the unit to be placed anywhere. But as mention by Roger, he has a PCB. Kind Regards Karl
Here is a link to a little video I made showing the pcbs I made up for my MCP panel. https://youtu.be/unSwK1MVjco

I designed a circuit board to mount the 7 seg display modules. I mad a board for a 3 digit display and a board for a 5 digit display. Both of these boards will plug into a board with the 7219 led driver chip. then it is easy peasy to hook them up. Three data wires to the Arduino and two for power and ground. The boards were a couple of bucks each.
Wonder if this forum is worthwhile as no reply to my post
