Greetings all. I bought Karl's recommended Creality printer and I've been having fun on the learning curve. I printed out the last of the pieces for the MCP and it all fits together nicely.... now to await the Arduino and then start wiring. I've printed out all the pieces for the landing gear panel but the small numbers didn't print out on the faceplate. Any ideas?? Cheers, al.

FYI Cura just released Beta 5.0 and it is now able to process much finer details. I have just set up a print with 0.4 nozzle for the RH frame of the G1000 which has similarly small text in areas. The preview rendered all these spots so it should print fine. No more tricking the printer!
Well Fogazi, I tried your .2 setting using the .4 nozzle and after the 15 hours I was very surprised at the result. I think you outsmarted the machine! I'm interested in trying the same print with the actual .2 nozzle (using "thin walls" and "inclusive"), and I'm going to experiment with changing colour to white at the lettering layer height. It's all so darned interesting.... al.
Roger, wilco! Thx, al
Hi Kmorey, I'm using Cura also. Thanks, I'll await my .2 nozzles and give your "thin walls" a try. So many settings..... I'm ok with a longer print times for something like a panel face that I have to look at all the time -- I'll just sleep in a little later. Lots of interesting videos on the University of YouTube about smoother prints but I get saturated quickly. Cheers, al.
I don't know what slicer program you use, I use Cura. In the Walls section I use "Print Thin Walls" and in the experimental section I use "Inclusive". All with a 0.2" nozzle and they turn out fantastic. The only downfall is it takes about 5 times longer to print.
Wow, there's a great bit of info. I've ordered some .2 nozzles but I'll give your idea a try today.... let you know in 15 hours. Thanks very much! al.
You can actually just select a 0.2 nozzle in cura and it will work, even if you only have a 0.4 nozzle. I have done it with the G1000 stuff. After you slice it, click the preview button up top and you will see with 0.4 it doesn't render the small lettering, change to a 0.2 and it will. Then just print with 0.4.
Ok, thanks for your idea -- I was just following the build guide. Amazon and .2mm nozzles here I come!
Either use an 0.2 nozzle or resin printer. The standard 0.4 nozzle is too big for Those numbers/letters
