Hi,
New to this community and to 3-d printing. It's been a week since I purchased my first 3-d printer (an Ender 5 Pro), and I stumbled across Karl's YouTube videos while searching for viable throttle quadrant(s) to build. I am very impressed with the quality of these designs and their "accessibility".
I plan to download the .stl files for the B767 and the B737.v3 throttle quadrants shortly, but have a question about the potentiometers, as I cannot source these from eBay, from my location (India):
(1) RV24YN 20S HQ POT 10K Ohm:

This particular pot is available on Banggood, but to my location (India) they will only ship the 5K-ohm version.
So my questions are:
(i) I understand that using the 5K-ohm version might result in greater power dissipation and possible overheating. Would this be a risk not worth taking?
(ii) Would someone be able to provide me more details of this potentiometer: shaft rotation in degrees, dimensions, and a diagram with dimensions, so that I could search for alternatives in the 10K-ohm range.
(2) 10 KOHM POTENTIOMETER:

This (or something similar-looking) seems to be available on Banggood.in, but as no details are provided on the eBay link, would someone be able to give me: shaft rotation in degrees, dimensions, full part number, and perhaps a diagram with dimensions.
Thanks for your help!

Chakko, the rotation angle required is very small, less than 45 degrees, and most pots seem to be about 300.
Hi Karl,
Many thanks for this information. Actually the "other type shown" is also from your recommendations, and in your 757 build guide/video you appear to be using that particular type (and not the RV24YN HQ pot) for the thrust reversers.
Would you be able to tell me what the rotation angle is or should be, as I would imagine that value would be a design constraint.
Thanks again,
Chakko.
Hello!
5K Ohm pots of the original version would be fine. They wouldn't overheat due to the small current. In my opinion, I would stick with this RV24YN type pot. Im not sure if the other type shown will fit. As for specs I have no idea, but you should be able to find the datasheet. I buy the parts and then make the units around the parts I have to hand. Getting parts here in Brunei right now is a mission!
Im sure Leobodnar cards state you can use any value from 1K to 100K.
Kind Regards Karl
Unfortunately, AliExpress stopped shipping to individuals in India a few months ago, as a fallout of the political problems prevalent between our nations. But my question is really about the detailed specifications of these pots, as I would need those to check the compatibility of other options that might be available elsewhere (other than eBay, through the links provided).
