I'm building the Motorized Throttle and having difficulty to understand how to set the Hall Sensors to the mid point. How do I find the mid point when they can be rotated endlessly in either direction.
I have tried to calibrate them using the Windows Game Controller. When I turn the sensor the pointer in the screen moves and then will suddenly flick back to the initial starting point. If I continue turning this process repeats. Is the point where it flicks back the mid point? All the sensors do the same so I guess that is normal behaviour. I'm using a Arduino Leonardo card.
Can anyone give me some direction?

Hi Graeme, the point you are describing there is the 359/0 point. So when that happens, you want to set the shaft 180 degrees from that point. You don't want that happening when using the hall sensor as it will cause horrendous problems. I hope that helps. Kind regards karl
