Setting Mid Point on Hall Sensors

I'm building the Motorized Throttle and having difficulty to understand how to set the Hall Sensors to the mid point. How do I find the mid point when they can be rotated endlessly in either direction.

I have tried to calibrate them using the Windows Game Controller. When I turn the sensor the pointer in the screen moves and then will suddenly flick back to the initial starting point. If I continue turning this process repeats. Is the point where it flicks back the mid point? All the sensors do the same so I guess that is normal behaviour. I'm using a Arduino Leonardo card.

Can anyone give me some direction?

Hi Guys, I’m have some issues setting it to mid-point any help would be appreciated,

currently I’m trying to use Prosim throttle setting, but it not to helpful 😊.

Go into start menu, searh and type usb game controller, select properties and watch the bar move up and down. set the hall sensor to the mid position. Thats it! simples! (i Hope)

Hi Graeme, the point you are describing there is the 359/0 point. So when that happens, you want to set the shaft 180 degrees from that point. You don't want that happening when using the hall sensor as it will cause horrendous problems. I hope that helps. Kind regards karl

did you ever get this working? I am running into the same problem using a Leobodnar card. I tried Karl's suggestion, but windows does not provide the degrees and so I cannot tell when I have reached 180.
