I am hoping someone can help with the DIP settings on the TB6600 Stepper Driver.
I have the TB6600 connected to 12v (3.5A). According to the diagram, pins 4-6 should be off. I also set pins 1-3 to off.
1) Are my DIP settings correct?
2) Should the Stepper Motor be hot? It was very hot when I touched it.
Steve,
I assume you are using Nema 17 stepper motors, in which case 3,5 Amps are a bit high, and will cause overheating of the motor. I normaly use the 2,0 Amp setting. The motor starts heating up because the holding current is too high.
Pins 1 to 3 is for micro stepping and should not cause overheating, but with 1/32 micro steps, your holding torque will not be as high as 1 (single) step.
