Hi all. I recently took the plunge and bought the ender 3 pro. Fabulous bit of kit, but I’m having niggling issues.
im trying to print the parts for the fmc, and cannot for the life of me get the first layer of the “upper back plate” to stick everywhere. I have a glass bed, and also recently installed a BLTouch. I’m using Pla+ if it helps, and following the settings in the guide.
tips, hep anything is welcome!
Hello Guys,
Try this:
Theres a section at the bottom on how i get my prints to stick
Update! After double checking the calibration and re_levelling with the BLtouch I started at 25mm/s. And voila! First layer stuck. I’ve now upped to the normal 50 and so far so good. Now to wait approx 15 hours to see how the upper back plate turns out.
Thanks for the help!
try masking tape on the bed it allows me to print with cold bed (which is good in uk due to soaring energy prices) use scotch blue tape the widest you can find. I find using BRIM with an nice width helps to prevent lifting.

Hi Mike, thanks for replying. That seems like good advice, I’ll give that a try.
If I slice it (I use Cura) with the slower speed, iI can change it on the fly? I am using a custom Marlin firmware from a very helpful chap called Rob who runs the 3d print scape website/you tube. Once happy, is it wise to just up it to the 50mm/s+
As always I appreciate the help. Take care,
Andy
My advice would be to slow the first layer to maybe 25-30mm/s have the bed at 60degrees and turn off cooling fan till later 2-3 , I have 2 ender3 V2‘s and was having the same issues until I cleaned the bed with hot soapy water and slow the print speed down, once it got that first layer everything runs fine, hope that helps..
