Evening All,
I've started the build of the main MIP and getting along nicely. I hope this is not too much of a newbie question. I know the difference between an annunciator and a switch but in the main panel how do I tell the difference. As an example on the MIP build PDF doc I can see the Korry type inserts for 'TAKEOFF CONFIG', SPEEDBRAKE ARMED' 'STAN OUT OF TRIM' etc...
I also understand the LED side of these but how do I know if they are 'clickable' at all or just annunciators. Is there a list somewhere of what is just an annunciator or both a push button which I can put an action against and an annunciator.
Thanks to the forum so far for the help....
@milestudor - Thanks for the information. I'm building up a list as I go along now. The landing gear lights as an example. I know now that most of the buttons can be 'pressed' and a lot of sim builders do this. I just want the information there in some instances so I'm balancing the extra complexity of a button build and press versus just an annunciator. Gear up / down annunciators as an example I've not added the press functionality just the LED's. Thanks again - appreciate the help.
I have a related newbie question. I am trying to 3D print the annunciators and cannot get the inner body to fit into the outer body. can anyone guide please?
Some indicators on the 737 are just indicators for information or the state of something, and some of them are dual function, eg they act as a button for something as well as lighting up. However, pretty much every indicator is also secretly a switch as well. There is something called PTT or push to test. An informational only indicator can also be pushed as a switch to test its lamp is working. A lot of sim builders will skip this additional function as it just adds a whole lotta more switches to the build.
I'm not sure if Karls MIP plans include this or not for all of the Korrys.
This is how I understand it, please correct me if I'm wrong.
