Hello, I absolutely love the 737 build and parts on this site. However I was really hoping for some additional 757/767 parts to compliment the awesome looking throttle quadrant. 757/767 home simulator cockpit parts are almost impossible to find in the commercial market. Its important to me since I fly almost exclusively the Flight Factor 752F and 763F on XP11, so thus far my home pit building options are very limited, or prohibitively expensive (FDS).

So change in plans... after extensive and exhaustive research as to part availability, schematics, and the final determining factor of professional grade software to run all the systems and avionics, I've decided to ditch the 757/767 cockpit plan and 'upgrade' my virtual type rating to the 747-400 using XP11. I've loved the idea of a 767 as it was more unique for the FS cockpit builder community, but seeing one gentlemen's struggles in interfacing with available aircraft such as the Flight Factor versions made me think twice about this. So already took the first step and ordered myself some real scale printed artwork of the complete 744 cockpit in order to begin preliminary design work and mock ups so I can start coming up with some CNC templates.
On that note, the biggest request I have of this community is the throttle. Is there an easy way to expand your current design of the 767 to add the two additional throttle levers for a 747? Ideally we can get an altered 747 TQ specific design, but alternatively am more than happy with a altered 767 TQ with the two additional levers. I'm more than willing to sacrifice having an exact replica for simplicity in design and printing. Since I'm not sure if the final product will be an exact 1:1 replica size the entire center pedestal framing and design depends on the TQ.
Short version: Possible to modify the 767TQ with
Extra width / middle sections
Two additional throttle levers
Delete annunciators
Add two run/cuttoff switches
Absolutely no worries! I know its was a big ask.
After I posted the other day I found again the 747/777 panels available by Opencockpits and Hispapanels. When I start construction I might go that route for the individual panels themselves and save myself some headache at the additional cost even though they are not true to form 757/767 parts.
So I can descope my original ask to more of the other various odds and ends parts found on this site that can be relatively easily converted to Boeing brown rather than the grey cockpit. The dual yoke definitely!
Does anyone here have a schematic for for the 747 or 777 cockpit with dimensions? I used to have one for the 747-400 but I just can't seem to find it it. The MIP and center pedestal overall shape and designs are close enough and common enough between the 747/757/767/777 that it should get me in the ballpark at least. The overheads are vastly different of course but just looking to start with a MIP and center pedestal design.
My current thought on overall look and feel will be striking a balance between 757/767/777 cockpits with inspired by but not true to form interior sidewalls, taking more of the custom furniture approach for functionality like cup holders, AC and USB power, RAM mount pedestal for tablets, etc. I'm not building an FAA approved pit so no need to duplicate every nook and cranny of the real thing. Just something I can spend my retirement years in flying on Vatsim in peace and relative seclusion. 😁
Hi Tom, This is a massive undertaking! Its taken me long enough to get this far with the 737. Once this is done, I will start to take lists of what people need! Unitl then, unless its small, i really cant help just yet! Sorry.
