Can you expand on your modularity concept as it relates to your cable management. I know you are using screw terminal shield on top of Arduino. What’s in between the component and the arduino. Thank you for your help.

As for cable management, I have moved away from the screw terminal Arduino shields and moved to the soldered connections. I find these much more reliable, and compact. The idea of the modular design is two-fold.
A) allow the subparts of the cockpit to come apart easily and quickly.
b) allow components to be replaced easily
From the Arduino boards, if there are long runs to the connected devices, I have created break out Boards (BOBs). These do have screw terminals which allow the components to be replaced very easily. That's the basic idea and I have added most of my wiring diagrams to the website now for you to follow.
