I am having a heck of a time isolating the Front and Back MCP panels so that I can export them as a DXF file and Cut them using V carve Pro or Aspire. I am not fluent enough in Fusion to be able to Cut from there. Does anyone have just the panel Drawings they could supply me otherwise it will mean redrawing both panels.
Thank you in advance.
Randy
Hey all,
Long time no speak. Glad to know you’re safely back in the UK Karl, looking forward to the new videos!
I’ve personally had some time off from designing my cockpit, but I’m back on it now, and have finally finished my Korry MCP design , after spending days on end looking at original 737 images from stock galleries etc, and I think I’ve finally finished it. All the buttons are correctly spaced, margined together, even the pointy tips of the letter N’s taken off. Will hopefully get laser cut this week, sprayed and engraved! Going to be making new Korry switches on the Form 3 for it too :) Fortunately I also have some white 7-segment displays too (the gaps will be hidden by black acrylic screens and solid backing plate).
No doubt I’ve probably missed something having stared at it for the last 3 days checking and rechecking lol.
The backplate I’m going to be using 3mm diode leds so it should be nice and tidy on the reverse :)
Of course you must paint it before. :)
I have painted mine with grey matt and then I made first the laser engraving and after that the cuts with the cnc. That´s the result. But I made a little mistake, i have lackered the plate just once but better is twice, now with the backlighting there are little holes in the paint where the light shines through.
The picture is "work in progress" without light, I am just at wiring the whole unit and try to make it right with a additional PCB where I collect all the ground and VCC wires from the LED-Displays, etc... I have downloaded a case from thingiverse where the 2 Arduinos and the additional PCB can be mounted.
I was able to do a test print with the drawings I made before you sent me your fikes but I will try yours also. Thank you. I made a couple errors but will fix them on the final plate. This plexiglass is sure a different animal to carve. Any ideas on how to go about painting this? I suppose I should have done that before engraving it.
Thank you, I will give it a try.

you can check my files if they can help you. I have put them in my Dropbox. Here is the link: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/k3a1mxqt0dwadru/AAAOXP0Ik2ZGI_AIxV9bjE5ya?dl=0
The fusion file have the toolpaths for my 3018 (3040 extended) machine. I made the cut´s in 2 tiles. The lightburn file have the paths for laser engraving and the Illustrator file have all paths for the engraving and the text in font.
Hope that helps a bit.
Yes......I am unable to export just the Front and Backplate as single units even though I had hidden all the other parts. I wish Karl had posted those in Fusion as single parts rather than an assembly. I want to use my CNC not 3D printing for the panels. The issue is that I can't or should I say unable to create the proper Tool Paths and Gcode in Fusion to send to my machine. In order for me to Cut these I need DXF files of just the Front and Back Panels and then I can Use Aspire or V Carve Pro to Cut the Plates.

Do you speak about the $38 MCP?
What exactly do you need? I made new designs in Fusion of both, Front and Backplate. Frontplate with laser engraved paths for the lettering and cut files for the holes. The backplate I have redesigned and exported in 3 files for 3D printing.
