I have a small CNC Machine the 3018 Prover and I would like to know how to print half of, say the glare shield. move the board and re-start the cutting. I've seen Karl do it on his MIP board. He printed one side than slide the panel down and finished the cutting. Can anyone suggest a video or if Karl has a video I would greatly appreciate it. I can't afford another machine.
One more item. I would like to know how to etch a panel, pause the etching, change bits, then re-start by cutting out the panel.
I hope I don't ask too many questions, it's just that I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Cancer last year and this is the only thing that makes me happy. I forget my pain and the hardship of cancer and life itself when I am painstakingly working on my simulator. I am limited in my mobility but the pain is worth it to me. My blood pressure has been down, it's high due to the side effects of my chemo pills, and this is what keeps it normal and of course my medication.
I personally wanted to thank Karl for the plans and his help in the past. What an intelligent man to come up with these plans. I can imagine the man hours it took for him to do this. I had researched many other DIY Sims and Karl's plans have been the MOST accurate and affordable plans. I am a real life pilot and lost my medical last year due to my cancer so this is why I am doing this. At least it comes close to flying the real thing.
With many thanks to all,
Michael Merrigan
Hi Michael,
I'm sorry to hear about your cancer, I cannot imagine what you are going through. I used to have a 3018 proVer too but I sold it and bought a full size CNC. I'm not sure how to use the 3018 and make different cuts. I can help you with the edge (engraving). I don't know where you live but I would be more than happy to cut out your design on my machine and help you where-ever, whatever works for you. I am in the Netherlands and happy to work with you on designs if thats what you want. Take care!
Jaap.
