Hi,
I am currently using a 600w PC powersupply on my set-up (MIP, OH and pedestall), but since I am using 5v LED strips for backlight, the voltage drops to 4.3v when on full backlight. (cables are as short as possible and I am using 18 AWG cable from powesupply to 5 v LED dimmer.
The 12v rail is not dropping as much, 11.7v at min so thats fine.
I am planning to swap the old PC powersupply over to a switching power supply, but does anyone have a tip on how to wire the Power ON switch up in the overheadpanel?
The input power supply is 230v, and I need a switch that can handle that kind of voltage.
Now I am using a 24v switch to swith on the PC powersupply.
thanks

Goog morning!
yes, i prefer not to apply any 240v into my OH, so that is why your answer is partly resolving my question.
To switch on that wifiplug, how is that plug connected to your “power on“ switch in the OH?
thanks again!

Good Morning,
My overhead is all low voltage and I would not want to add 240v to it just for safety reasons.
I think personally I would keep your 12/24v switch and wire it to a relay that would switch on the power supply. My power supplies are switched via a wifi plug.
Kind regards Karl
