Karl,
First....HATS OFF TO YOU, BROTHER for some fantastic help that you have provided to us who have used your designs to further our love for flight simulation. Your efforts are immeasurable, and we owe a debt of gratitude for your efforts.
I have a simple question. First, a statement... I have scoured your website and found that you had issues making the rudder pedals strong. With that, I purchased a CR-10 V3 so I could closely mirror your settings. So far, the prints for the rudder parts is going fine. As you said, they take a lot of time, so I'm practicing with Cura to find the right settings. You had mentioned that you increased the wall definitions on the pedals to make them stronger, but that is not reflected in the print settings on the build guide. Following your build guide and downloading your Cura settings, I'm finding that the print is significantly quicker than the 4 days you estimated on the build. So, obviously I'm missing some settings. Is there a wall thickness setting I'm missing? Any help is appreciated. I just want to make sure my settings are correct before committing to a 4 day build
Side note:do you use the stock firmware on the CR-10 V3? I'm finding it kind of lacks. I "grew up" on a Pruse MK 2 that has a lot more functionality to include a Z offset adjust which I found to be QUITE important in getting a quality first layer.
also, make sure you have Sync Bracket ver3!!!
the older ones are wrong.
if you have an older one in your zip file, get the latest from here:
there are other corrected files for the pedals there as well, make sure to get them all
the original setting are done on cure 4.X
you are probably using 5.X which improves the print speed by between 20%-50%
I'm also in the loooooooong process of printing the pedals, hopefully by Saturday I'll finish the functional part and then move on to the even longer printing of the case and footplates
