Hi @Karl Clarke
I have printed the Tie Rod (19) according to your recommendations and cannot get the ball to move. When I look at Preview mode in Cura, it shows some support to the ball. When I look at the top of the printed part, the filament secures the ball so it doesn't move. How can I fix this so it moves freely?
did them at 0.2 and regular speed, after putting in the bolt and a little persuasion, they do work.
don't forget to remove the print support on the bottom😄
Hi Steve, You need to print these at 0.12 layer height and a slower speed of 30mm. Print them as shown. Once the support is released is a shaft of around 6mm in eye end. With a little gentle force, it will break free.
I would also recommend buying the eyeends from Amazon now i have access. They are easily sourced along with the threaded rod. A much stronger and longer lasting solution. But the PLA printed ones will do the job.
If you are really struggling, let me know and i will reduce the size of the ball even more.
Kind Regards, Karl
