Hi Karl,
I've been working on 3D printing the glarewings from your fusion files. All the parts are printed. Each side took about 120 hours. About three spools of filament in total I think. I'm adding some wood structure to the transition plates and to the inside of bodies 1 thru 11 to make it a little stronger. I was hoping I wouldn't have to sand and paint them but I think I'm going to have to since I had a little warping on the biggest pieces. When I have them assembled and attached to my mip panel I'll post another picture. Hope you like them and as always thanks for everything you contribute!

Hello Chris,
Could you share the finally mounted pics? If you decided to paint, what was the result? I am considering to print myself, and if need to be painted anyway, print at 0.8 nozzle and 0.3 layer? What do you think?
I could also buy the glare wing from GLA but see many struggle with the 6pack and warning/fire button install. In this printed it should be better correct?
Gunter
Great work! I hope you left plenty of room for cable looms!
Hi, I 3D printed the gull wings and used 10mm PVC board to join them. Busy filling joints and prepping for final install. Wonder what it would look like if it was CNC in PVC?
The glarewings are a device that can be used to create an interesting effect in your painting. They will give the appearance of light being cast from behind the objects, which is typically only seen on a 2D surface. The way this works is by using layers of gesso and acrylic paint over a piece of cardboard with two small slits cut out for the camera lens. This allows you to see through them as if they were a window into another world put acrylic paint on your body - very cool! It takes some practice but once you get it down it's easy enough to do on demand. Let me know what you think about these devices, I hope they're helpful for those who want to take their work up a notch or two!
This is a EPIC print. But very satisfying when finished
Hi Chris! You are a complete mad man, 120 hours and 3 spools! WOW! But they do look good. So im guessing they weigh in at 1.5Kg each. Perhaps creating screw/bolt mounts might also aid in the build. (too late for you) but looking forward to seeing ow they look fitted.
