What a shame you didn't get the file. Come on Les Gilmer, share the file with Steve, as he is pulling his hair out! Sharing is caring. If you don't get it, I am sure Karl will help you out. He maybe even incorporating it into his design anyway. Version 7,8906 lol. I have tried fusion, but the thing just freezes on start up. I haven't time to look into it yet as i am in the process of mastering 3d printing.
Les, final plea... Please could you upload the stl file and share this cool mod with the rest of us. 🤓
I love the mod and love your style Steve Morris... as we say in Yorkshire "shy bairns get nowt!" I do hope you got the stl file? Geesh it sounds like a transmitted disease doesn't it? 🤣
No stl file yet but no big deal, luckily no transmitted diseases 😀. Still trying to work out in fusion how to add a little channel on the body to hold an led strip. As Karl has mentioned before its all a learning curve and for me that takes time, still good fun 🙄
Great job. I was trying to do the same thing by editing the main body in fusion 360 unfortunately my pc is so old autodesk just freezes. Cheeky question would you consider sending your stl file for this mod? Don't worry if its no I'm just one of those people that say if you don't ask you don't get!
great work Les,when I made mine I printed with transluscent filament, installed the stickers for flaps, speedbrake and stab trim,I masked them off then painted the quadrant with iron grat paint.I then installed the led strips underneath those areas.
Very informative post. I have you bookmarked to check out new stuff. Have you ever considered applying for a job using these skills of yours? If you do, resume editor service will be really helpful. They're real professionals and thanks to them you can focus on improving your skills instead of wondering how to write about them :)
Waiting for an email

Thanks. In the line of nexts but hadn’t seen anything real that was done with a laser. So thanks for showing it off. The whole thing looks great!
I have a kit built 40w machine. Better than but Very similar to the chinese ones sold online.
Just wondering about the laser stuff. What laser do you have?
I edited the center body section to mount led strip to shine thru the part and laser cut and engraved the placards.
Wow how did you do that with the Backlight??
