I learnt a new trick today, how to pause the printer and then change the spool.
I had been patiently waiting beside the printer till it got to the top layer and manually pausing it to change the spool to white for the text. Then I found a neat trick right in Cura that does exactly that...
From Cura's main menu, choose Extensions -> Post Processing -> Modify G-Ccode
Click the "Add a script" button
Choose "Change filament at height"
Enter the desired layer in the "Pause at layer" box
Another small tip is to bolden up your text. I've been redoing the text using Futura Book Bold. There is a point where if it is too smal then cura just garbles it up by missing stuff.
I like this idea! I shall have to give it a whirl myself. Keep up the good work! Cheers John
Tried the filament change yesterday, im happy with the results. thanks.
Hi, I will give this a go later and see how it goes. This will certainly work on flat panels and decals. Thank you for pointing this out! If all goes well, ill add this to the 3d printing page.
Kind Regards Karl
