Hey there! I stumbled upon your YouTube and website looking for a cheaper alternative to the Puma X helicopter controls. And boy have you kicked open the door on my imagination!!!
I've been wading into my final destination of becoming a helicopter pilot one bit at a time. My plan is to maximize my physical flying lessons (30 hours flight time minimum in the US) with simulator experience. My first step has been nearly a hundred hours in VR Heli-simming, Now, I feel I'm to a place where I want to feel the physical controls on my hands while I sim in VR to gain understanding of resistance while flying.
There are helicopter controls, however they all cost in the $1000 - $2000 range. After watching your videos, I think I might be able to undercut the cost of a PumaX while also learning a thing or two. And at the end of the day, I'll have controls that I can continue to modify as I desire. Your build guide is just brilliant!! Thank you!
I've purchased and downloaded your three STL zip files, but I have no idea where I'll get 3D Printed parts made (btw, do you think it's cheaper to buy my own printer and print the parts or outsource the whole thing?). I'm simply going to solve this one problem at a time.
Looking forward to getting my hands dirty. thanks for sharing your knowledge with us!!
