My build isn't DIY unfortunately. I love to do 'hands on' things, but due to living in a small flat, my lack of space/facilities (& electronics knowledge) means I had to buy my sim (on a budget). In this situation, the cheapest pre-built vendor seems to be Opencockpits, so that's who I bought from. I do like their hardware but the interface system (SIOC & Scripts) can be a nightmare, so I'm looking to change this. Only a couple of days ago I spoke to Karl on one of his YT video's, asking if mobiflight can replace SIOC. He said the hardware will need to be rewired to Arduino. At first I thought 'forget that' but then I reconsidered. I like a challenge, and as long as I can follow a good guide (and this is where Karl's excellent site, knowledge & show-how) comes into it, then why not?... I seem to have a lot of problems with SIOC & scripts. If it's not freezing the sim during mid-flight, it's causing display malfunctions or incorrect values before the flight. It's like one day it's ok & the next it can't be bothered.
Thanks Karl for all the efforts & dedication you give to the sim community.
Keep well to everyone (especially during this global crisis).
