The design deviates significantly from the standard approach of other vendors, as it prioritizes even backlighting and illumination of the knob stripes in low-light environments. As a result, the rotary switches have been relocated from the faceplate to enable uniform light distribution into the knobs. The design accommodates the larger 8-position rotary switches and the smaller, more affordable rotary switches currently on the market.
