The wait is over! Due to overwhelming demand, we’ve brought back a limited batch of AH-64 Keyboard Prototype PCBs. They are now available in our webshop. These boards are the same units showcased at FSweekend Expos in previous years. They are a familiar piece for those who have experienced them firsthand.
Why This Batch is Unique
This run features only 20 sets, making them a rare find for dedicated DIY flight sim builders. These PCBs are untested in DCS, but they have been rigorously verified to operate flawlessly with Mobiflight and an Arduino Pro Mega. For those seeking a robust and adaptable foundation, these boards offer an exciting opportunity. They can help bring your AH-64 keyboard project to life.
The backlighting voltage is 12V, and all resistors are pre-assembled SMD on the board. This means you can expect excellent performance and minimal hassle during setup.
Designed for Simplicity
To make assembly easy, these PCBs use through-hole components. This design choice ensures that soldering is straightforward, even for those with moderate experience. The space constraints led to a back-to-back PCB mounting design that integrates seamlessly with your build structure.
Users also have the option to customize the backlighting to be green or white. This depends on the LED tactile switch used. Additionally, the large LCD fits snugly into the top orifice, completing the authentic setup you desire.
A Call for Community Feedback
Karl has already distributed 50 PCBs (25 sets) for prototyping. Surprisingly, no feedback has been received yet. Although they remain unproven in DCS, they have been confirmed to work seamlessly in MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024. This serves as an open invitation for the community to explore, test, and share insights. We especially encourage those with expertise in programming an Arduino for DCS to contribute.
The lower price of these boards reflects our request for community engagement. Your feedback is crucial.
Support and Guidance Available
At this stage, we cannot provide direct programming support. This is until community feedback helps shape best practices. However, if you need assistance with assembly and hardware setup, our team is more than happy to offer guidance. We want you to be successful in your build.

In conclusion, these AH-64 Keyboard Prototype PCBs are not just circuit boards; they are gateways to creativity. Whether you are a seasoned builder or just starting, this project offers a unique opportunity to engage with a passionate community and create something special.
