This C172 Lower Panel is a fully 3D‑printable digital design that forms the lower section of a Cessna‑172 instrument panel. It includes the Magneto switch housing, left and right fuse panels, trim panel, and throttle sub‑panel. The entire assembly slides neatly into the main instrument panel from behind and secures with screws to your cockpit frame, just like the real aircraft structure.
All text is raised for crisp FDM printing, including on single‑nozzle machines, while multi‑colour printers can produce stunning, professional‑looking legends. Most parts are designed for straightforward printing, but certain flat components can also be laser‑cut to elevate the finish.
This file pack contains no physical parts or electronics; only the CAD/STL models needed for printing.

🎯 Use Case
Ideal for:
- MSFS, X‑Plane, and P3D home cockpit builders
- C172‑style simulator panels
- DIY training environments
- Desktop or full‑frame GA cockpit builds
The model slots directly into your instrument panel frame and provides a strong, visually accurate foundation for your lower‑panel controls.
💡 Design Inspiration & Context
This panel is the result of multiple real‑world cockpit measurements and prior builds in the 737DIYSIM project ecosystem. It maintains the structured assembly style found across the C172 MIP and lower‑panel ecosystem, ensuring parts interlock cleanly across designs. Similar panel structures used in the C172 MIP CAD files also informed compatibility and part sizing.
Where available, laser‑engraved faceplates inspired the optional engraving upgrade linked above, matching workflows and finish standards seen in other builder modules.
This is an original creation, purpose‑built for functional realism and ease of home manufacturing.
