318 Korry Lenses (OEM‑Style Replica)

Hi sim builders, Karl here.

I wanted to personally add a few words to this product, because it has taken a very long time to reach a level I am genuinely happy to call OEM‑replica quality.

These 737 318 Korry lenses have been in development for over two years. The entire project hinged on one thing: getting the blue lenses right. Like many builders, I have never been satisfied with the blue solutions currently available. Even with multiple genuine units in the workshop and extensive reverse engineering, progress was slow. OEM lenses are injection‑moulded, which makes accurate replication extremely difficult, and recreating them has taken hundreds of test prints and refinements.

What Makes These Different

What genuinely sets these lenses apart is the approach.

Instead of using coloured LEDs, these lenses use OEM‑style coloured lenses, exactly like the real aircraft. All LEDs are white. This ensures consistent brightness across every caption, regardless of colour.

Every caption is fibre-laser-marked and finished with a protective topcoat to deliver a crisp, professional appearance and long‑term durability.

The real standout feature is the blue captions. When switched off, the lens appears clear, just like the real aircraft. When powered on, the caption illuminates blue, while the surrounding text illuminates white thanks to a dedicated white diffuser positioned behind the lens. This dual effect is simply not achievable using coloured LEDs.

All captions are supplied with individual white diffusers as standard. This additional manufacturing step adds significant time and cost, but the visual result is on a completely different level compared to standard Korry lenses.

About the Price

I want to be completely upfront about this.

After finalising production costs, I was honestly shocked. The full Forward Overhead set, consisting of 97 captions with individual diffusers, comes in at £170.

To me, that is an insane price. I have checked the figures twice, and unfortunately, this is the reality of producing them properly. These lenses are extremely time‑consuming to make. Both laser machines have been occupied with cutting and engraving for almost a full week to produce 50 sets. On top of that, significant manual labour is involved in finishing, painting, and assembly, especially for the blue lenses, which are exceptionally expensive to produce.

I can only apologise for the price. Because of the labour, machine time, and cost involved, it is very unlikely these will be produced again. This is not a product that can realistically be mass‑produced.

Key Features

  • OEM‑style coloured lenses, not coloured LEDs
  • White LEDs throughout for equal luminosity across all captions
  • Blue captions illuminate blue but appear clear when switched off
  • Fibre laser‑marked text with protective lacquer finish
  • Supplied with individual white diffusers
  • Designed specifically for the Boeing 737 Forward Overhead Panel

Availability

  • Available per panel set
  • Available as a complete Forward Overhead lens set

These lenses are the result of obsessive development, testing, and refinement, created for builders who want the closest possible visual match to the real aircraft. This is as far as I can realistically push replication without injection moulding, and I am genuinely proud of the result.
