A320 DCDU PCB – Karls A320 Build
Introducing the new 737DIYSIM A320 DCDU PCB, designed specifically for the Karls A320 MIP and cover plate.
The DCDU is designed for a slimline installation. Rather than adding a dedicated display, the unit uses the existing ECAM monitor to display DCDU information on screen. This means no additional screen or separate display data connection is required, helping keep the complete assembly simple, compact, and tidy.
Because of the restricted space available behind the panel, this is a true slimline PCB design. Wiring and cables are intended to be soldered directly to the PCB, avoiding bulky connectors and helping the completed unit fit neatly behind the Karl A320 cover plate.
For builders who don't need active on-screen DCDU functionality, the design can also be built as a blank/display-only unit while retaining fully functional buttons and backlighting.
The PCB uses soft ALPS push buttons, selected to give the DCDU a distinctive tactile press rather than the hard click of many standard switches. Cold white LEDs provide the backlighting and illuminate the panel text for a clean, crisp appearance.
