Genuine button lenses are made from 0.6mm plastic, and I have reverse-engineered them to match the exact outer dimensions, ensuring a perfect fit in the switch.
Using the same method of fibre laser engraving the backside, followed by painting and applying a top coat of white to the text, allows for illumination.
Initially, Karl could only source 1.6mm (2mm) Perspex to create the parts. However, after extensive discussions with users, it was agreed that the thicker parts are more durable and less likely to crack.
Karl is a licensed aircraft engineer who confirms that this product is unsuitable for real aircraft despite its accurate appearance and fit. This part is intended for simulator use only and does not come with a Form 1, Certificate of Conformity, or release to service.
